Thanks for sharing your story, Barbara. Oh, and I forgot to mention in my review, so will do so here ... I check to make sure my husband, cats, and even my rats are breathing too. I damn near gave one of the rats a heart attack. He was sound asleep and I poked him. He squealed and shot straight up in the air. Anyway, I personally saw nothing strange in you doing this :-)

Eliza - thanks for such a lovely review of my book. I sent it to all my friends. Glad to hear I am not the only one who checks the breathing. I still do I am ashamed to admit. Now I need to hear about the rats. Barbara
Two male rats. One in the seriously obese category, and the other one obsessive compulsive about grooming himself. They fit in nicely with the autistic (as described by my husband)Siamese and diva Dilute Calico cats. I think only the 3 koi fish are normal, but then we only just got them. Time will tell.
